| Subject: INTERVIEW w/ Jahred 14/10/2007, 19:04 | |
| The following interviw was taken from Anarchy Music.com. Read this shit now!
(hed) p.e. is back, and they are out to save the world! Literally! For most bands, releasing a kick-ass album that knocks down the barriers between Rap, Hardcore, Funk and Metal would be enough. Not so for (hed) or their fearless leader, Jahred. Not only is their new album Insomnia a genre-defying party-time necessity, it also gives the listener a crash course lesson in the Illuminati, secret governments and the future of our planet. Pretty hed-y stuff (pardon the pun). Whether you want to be challenged intellectually, or entertained with fun songs about drugs and groupies, this is your band! To give you the 411, I spoke with Jared in what is one of my favorite interviews in the history of this site. In other words...keep reading...
Anarchy Music: Insomnia is a great record, and seems like a rebirth for the band. Tell me about what you guys were going through during the making of this album.
Jahred: We had just had a great year. We were out on tour after tour having a great time on the road. Our record company was like "it'd be cool if you guys went in and recorded a new album", so we were like "killer". We had a window of about 4 months, so it was just really exciting for us. We were coming off some positive vibes in terms of being on the road and fan love and all that. We came back home and had some slamming shit. My guitar player Damien had a pile of slamming tunes and then we were just off to the races. We went into the studio and recorded the band for 3 days, and then I took all of that material to my home studio and worked on it from there.
Anarchy Music: One thing I really dig about the cd is that it's so varied in styles that you cant get bored of one thing before a completely different style kicks in. How do you balance out the different styles in such a seamless way?
Jahred: It's something that I've been messing around with for about 10 years in different formats. With this band though, it's 2007 and the universe is telling me what to do. If I'm not forcing it, it comes out right. I don't want to take all the credit myself for putting the pieces of the puzzle together. It's just something that happens because we're so into it and so honest with what we're trying to do, I think.
Anarchy Music: Even lyrically, you're talking about fucking groupies and getting high, and then the next line is dropping some major political or societal knowledge. Somehow it all works out.
Jahred: I love it! It's like that comedian Bill Mahr. He really political, and tells some really seriously funny jokes. Then he'll temper his act with the same talk about sex or getting high. That's what we do. Life is a bunch of really serious moments, punctuated by partying and fucking.
Anarchy Music: Well, apparently my life doesn't have enough punctuation...
Jahred: (laughs) Oh no! You said it! I wouldn't know., but I'm sure it's what you want it to be.
Anarchy Music: If we can get serious then for a minute, one of the thing's I've heard from people who have the record is "what is this Illuminati secret government stuff that he's talking about?" For the people who don't know, tell us what's going on behind our backs in this country...
Jahred: It's such a massive amount of material. let's just say that globalists, people behind the scenes, orchestrating wars, putting shitty chemicals in food, it goes on and on and on, all for what reason and what end? I don't know. People need to study it for themselves. I feel like if I give little pieces of it it's almost laughable because of the brainwashing that goes on where people think they know everything already. That to me the biggest trick. What it is just saying is that we're all in a matrix. What you see on the news and on CNN and read in the papers is all fake to get us going and use us for our money and our emotions and our lives to generate wars and wealth. Why should Dick Cheney make 10 million dollars a day and our soldiers in Walter Reed Hospital can't even get taken care of when they come home injured? You mention that to an older person and they think you're fucking crazy. No, I think they're fucking crazy because there is something crazy going on on the planet where we're being motivated to kill each other and who's benefiting from it? I don't think it's all over oil. I think it's over power and control. I don't believe that Republicans and Democrats are giving up their power every 4 years. The elections, all of it seems to be unravelling for me.
Anarchy Music: The Vietnam period has many parallels to today. The music fans back then mobilized and ended up changing the world. Do you think that today's music fans can be mobilized?
Jahred: I'm glad you brought that up because the Powers That Be know that what you just said is for sure a universal truth, that music is a power for change. The world is musical, the world hums. There's 4 seasons a year, there's 4 beats to a measure. Music from Bob Marley to John Lennon to the bands who were causing change in Vietnam. That stuff is really powerful and the Powers That Be know it. That's why in the mid-90's when all this bullshit started coming down... They knew it because they made it happen. They took down the monopoly clause, that's how Clearchannel owns so many fucking stations. Before that, the FCC wasn't going to allow it. They want this propaganda thing. Very few people own every outlet of communication. We all know what kind of evil that is. It's like 1984. To me it's no coincidence that in a time where there is a really a need for liberation style of music, that all you hear is a victim-conscious Emo music being pured at the kids. This is the world that I live in. This is real.
Anarchy Music: What happens if we don't mobilize? You even talk about the possibilities on the new album...
Jahred: You're talking about an end to our universe. 2012 is coming and the Earth wants to transcend into another dimension. The Dark Ones want to lower our vibrations until we can't have true freedom. We can't know what's going on if we're not allowed to evolve as a species without somebody screwing with us, which goes against nature. If we don't mobilize, we'll be creating our own Hell on Earth. You can't reduce liberty in the pursuit of freedom, or vice versa. You can't let them listen to every conversation because you're afraid some dudes from the sand are going to attack us again. It's not just me thinking this. Representatives from every state are going to the President and saying "our people don't want to be in this war", and he's saying "I'm the decider". I thought this was a Democracy, but I guess it's not.
Anarchy Music: We talked earlier about music being the new form of protest, and (hed) p.e. are certainly involved in that. Looking back over history, we know what happens to revolutionaries in this country. Is there any fear that someone in the government might decide to shut you up?
Jahred: Well, I can't live my life in fear. I can't even go down that road and don't even want to think about it. I wasn't this way when I signed my first record deal, but at this point (hed) p.e. is a band with a purpose and I'm an artist on a mission. There's no way that I can turn my back on that. It's like a soldier feeling like he needs to go to war. There's no way to shut me up because I'd feel guilty.
Anarchy Music: The first single "Suffa" deals a little bit with that. It's kind of a song for people who try to cause you to fail right?
Jahred: Right. It's on behalf of the human race as well. I'm saying "I'm not going to give up, you're going to suffer in the end". Believe me, they can't believe that we are doing as well as we are. With all of the brain washing and mind manipulation that they're doing to us and we're still doing well. With all of the chemicals in the food, and we still get healthy. Human beings are becoming a super race because of how much they're messing with us. In the end, the universe, God, the invisible, intelligent creative force, is not going to let us down. That's how I feel. I'm not talking about a god that's somewhere watching down. I'm talking about the God, like in Star Wars, the force. That's what God is. It just weaves itself through everything that isn't isn't, everything that is. That's where I'm at.
Anarchy Music: You've said that your goal is to have cult success with a group of dedicated fans, as opposed to mainstream radio success. Is that what you're feeling from the live shows you've been doing?
Jahred: That's what's going on! We're existing outside the mainstream and it's becoming this really sweet movement. Again, it's not just about songs and melodies. It's about purpose driven reasons of empowerment. The youth want that too. That's an energy you can feel. It's a great feeling.
Anarchy Music: Suburban Noize Records is a good fit for you. It seems like you're part of a family there, but i also read where you have said that they let you be your own boss...
Jahred: Yeah, it is like that. At the majors, they cultivate sort of a babysitting mentality. "You need a pair of Vans? Oh, I'll have them there for you at the video shoot". That kind of bullshit. You get to the video shoot and there's 2 trailers, a lunch table and all of these people. It's all on your fucking dime. You think that it's all free. It just sucks and it's gay. It's everything that's wrong with the music industry. At Suburban, they're like "it's your business, don't spend money because it's your freakin' money. You want Vans, go to the mall yourself."
Anarchy Music: It's got to be a smarter way of doing business because the labels just throw money at you, but that money has to come from somewhere and they eventually take it out of your pocket, right?
Jahred: Mmhmm. Nothing comes for free. Every thing's an "advance". It's bullshit. It's a loan. What they do is they give you a bunch of money and all of a sudden you're their fucking slave.
Anarchy Music: You don't have to worry about that now though. And I understand you're taking this to the UK?
Jahred: Yeah, I'm loving it. Tomorrow I'm actually going to Nashville to play with Three Six Mafia. I come home for 2 weeks then go to the UK, Amsterdam, France, Germany. Just a quick 3 weeker. Come home, and then go out with Dope at the end of October. That should finish up the year. Next year, Japan, Australia, Hawaii.
Anarchy Music: You guys must not be looking forward to Amsterdam at all, huh?
Jahred: Oh God, you're killing me! That's one of those times when you I'm like "Am I getting paid for this?" When I'm on the road, I run. I try to run about 4 miles a day, 5 days a week. In Florida I'm running to the beach, jumping in the water, and running back to the bus. I'm like "I'm fucking paid for this?"
Anarchy Music: The Dope tour will be back in the states? Is that a co-headlining tour?
Jahred: Yeah, the Dope(hed) tour. The American Dope(hed) Tour maybe. We're still trying to come up with a name for it.
Anarchy Music: I know a ton of people who are buying tickets to a show with that name without even knowing who's playing...
Jahred: (laughs) Okay, there you have it.
Anarchy Music: What else is in the plan to cultivate what you have going on?
Jahred: My plan is this: To come out with an album a year, all the way to 2012.
Anarchy Music: That stems from the fact that 2012 is the end of the Mayan calendar and is supposed to be the end of the current age on this planet?
Jahred: No, I think it's cited in lots of different places, that number. It's astrological too. In 2012 there's some kind of astrological cycle completion that's going on. Whether you believe in metaphysics or not, there's definitely something going on that year. There's cycles that go on, if you study the stars, that can't be disputed.
Anarchy Music: So your message is: between now and 2012 live life to the fullest, and buy a (hed) p.e. cd every year?
Jahred: My message is this: Imagine a better world. Really envision one. And buy (hed) p.e. cds. (laughs)
Anarchy Music: The world would be better if we all did buy your cds, right?
Jahred: (laughs) Yeah, yeah. I think so, definitely. t puts out that vibe that you can do it. We can all do it! For 15 bucks you're getting way more than $15 worth on a (hed) p.e. cd.
Anarchy Music: You're totally right! It does make you feel like you can accomplish your dreams. In fact, I'm going to fuck a groupie tonight!
Jahred: There you go! That was like a call-back!
Anarchy Music: My life is changing from this very conversation, so thank you!
Jahred: You're at the crossroads.
Anarchy Music: I really appreciate it.
Jahred: Dude, thank you for your time and your interest. I really appreciate it. It'll make a difference, I just know it!
Anarchy Music: One of the reasons why I wanted to do this was to give you the platform to not only share your music with people, but also your beliefs. I think a lot of people just walk through their lives without ever thinking about these things and they need to start thinking about it.
Jahred: The Powers That Be are counting on people going through their lives without thinking about it. That's why we're going to wake them up.
Oh My God!! (hed) p.e. mentioned Australia! There will be no need for me to keep living after I have seen them live! | |

| Hey, when was that interview conducted? Got a date? I tried goin' to the site, but it says its unavailable or can't be found. Good shit btw. Jah is so on point with everything he says and means too. Everyone is brain washed, you see it on a day to day basis. The fuckin' media and government is the devil, no digitty.
Anarchy Music:You've said that your goal is to have cult success with a group of dedicated fans, as opposed to mainstream radio success. Is that what you're feeling from the live shows you've been doing?

Fuckin'-A-Right! That was my favorite part of the interview! Exisiting outside the mainstream... and actually sending an important message out to the youth and future of our nation. Its my hope that more people come along and join the movement... fuck that mainstream bullshit. Soulja Boy, Britney fuckin Spears, all that emo shit you hear... what the fuck kinda messages are they sendin' out? Think about Britney at the VMA awards, lol, wow... how the fuck that bitch is still around, blows my mind away. And it just goes to show, how BIG Hed is gettin' and will continue to get without being mainstream.
Good shit yo! Please get me a date this interview was conducted, I wanna post it on another forum I go to. Thnx.
