a bit of info:
Ugly Kid Joe was a hard rock band from Isla Vista, California. The band's name is a parody of the band Pretty Boy Floyd. The band made a name for themselves in the early 1990s with their mix of satire and hard rock/metal sound.

The band existed from 1989 - 1997.

they were a mix, and don't mind about that last post by me i was in crisis mode again and i diddent know what i was doing :/, they have funk and metal and shit like that in other songs but milkmans son does it for me

My girlfriend likes this band, but they kind of sound like Hair Metal to me. Some of their songs are okay though.

youre right - they were a hair band - like whit has said they were the limp bizkit before limp bizkit lol

when i say cheesy - most of their popular shit was tongue in cheek - the first ep and cd - but the band got more serious with motel cali and menace to sobriety - their serious side of them most people didnt get and it was reflected in their shitty record sales for the last two cds - their label dropped them shortly after menace came out - they then signed to evilution/castle shortly thereafter and came out with motel cali - the band broke up shortly thereafter - i still talk to klaus - old guitarist - every now and again

they def were not a grunge band - in fact whit himself will tell you that when grunge came out it killed all the hair bands - ukj included

but i hate classifying music anyway - everyone has their own take on shit

Whenever I hear this band when my girlfriend plays their music in my car it sounds like a variety of metal styles. Funk Metal, Alternative Metal and sometimes even Hair Metal or just plain Heavy Metal. The voice kind of gives it away as being Hair Metal sometimes that is why. Like umm, what's that song? Cats in the Cradle and Busy Bee obviously have some Hair Metal influences you know, that heavy ballad feel.

So Damn Cool is the song is the song I really like from them.
